Wesleyans were meeting in Brigham as early as 1828 when there were 4 members. This cause had a chequered history at that time with membership disappearing briefly twice in the 1840s and never having more than 11 members before they built a small chapel in 1856. By 1880 the premises were too small for the then expanding numbers and a new chapel was built and opened on May 9th 1883. The two buildings still exist, the earlier now being a well-used hall.
