Grange ChurchServices: Second Sunday of the month at Grange Anglican Church, fourth Sunday at the Methodist Church, 11.00am.

Location: The village of Grange lies about a mile south of Derwentwater. The Methodist Church is situated beside the River Derwent, postcode CA12 5UQ.

The Wesleyans at Grange had to wait a long time before they had a building of their own. The cause began in 1847, but the chapel was only built in 1894. It comprises one room with a small porch.

The chapel is beautifully located beside the River Derwent as it flows along towards Keswick. Many walkers and other visitors are glad for its refuge on a wet day. Some of these so fall in love with the setting that they choose to get married here.

There has been a lot of co-operation in the village with the local Anglican Church. All year round the two congregations share two services every month, enriching both churches and their local community.

A daily word of exultation.
  • “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
